Ceramic Reconstruction

Ceramic Reconstruction

In recent years, aesthetic-demand of dental work has grown rapidly. Amalgam, the unchallenged restorative material for nearly 150 years, is now rivaled by ceramic restorations that offer the patient a more esthetically-capable solution to their dental worries.

Cerec Design and Milling Machines

We are incredibly excited about the addition of the Cerec Ceramic Reconstruction technology that promises to be a valuable addition to our practice. With only about 5 other systems in all of Egypt, our clinic continues to uphold its effort to stay at the forefront of the dental field. Born at the hands of Prof. W. Mörmann and Dr. M. Brandestini at the University of Zurich in 1980, the newest model now offers design and milling for all-ceramic inlays, onlays, partial crowns, veneers and crowns for the anterior, premolar and molar regions. Cerec is a versatile ingredient that will add yet another broad scope to the dental practice.

So how does it work?

Cerec’s new 3D software allows the dentist to use an occlusion registration camera to create a 3D representation of the patient’s teeth.

Ceramic Restorations

Ceramic Restorations

The dentist uses the acquired data to design a restoration best suited for the patient’s condition using the Cerec system’s 3D tools. Slowly fading are those month-long procedures where the patient has to come for multiple visits. Cerec is a shinning witness of this. Once the dentist is satisfied with the restoration design, the Cerec milling system gets to work and produces a ceramic restoration while the patient waits! In a matter of minutes the new restoration, precise to 20 microns, is ready to be fit and the patient wished good-day.

* Please note that every case is unique in its color effect demands and fit, patients may be required to come for a second visit.
